Jazz:

This term is an umbrella for many styles of dance that are interelated, and it has origins in tap, ballet, jazz rhythms and even Afro-American beats. As a matter of fact, Jazz was born through afro-american dances after the second half of the nineteenth century, to the first half of the twentieth. In the last 60 years, many more forms appeared, such as cakewalk, black bottom, charleston, jitterbug, boogie woogie, swing and it's closely related lindy hop. An although all of these variants are styles in themselves, the term Jazz relates them all and uses them to create beautiful and creative coreographies.

Ballet (classic)

Ballet is a formal dance that originated in the French Court, and it developed in France and Russia as a concert hall dance. It is the base of many other kinds of dance, and because of it great refinement, it is an excelent way to learn how to move the body with grace and smoothness, and great attention to detail.

Tap

Tap was developed in the USA during the Nineteenth Century, and it's name comes from the sound that the metal platforms on the shoes make when the dancer takes a step. This style transforms the dancer into a percussionist, so he/she helps the beat with their feet. Besides all of the benefits of dancing, this style also develops a geat sense of rhythm and coordination in an exceptional way.

Ritmos Latinos

Salsa, merengue, rueda de casino and cha cha cha are the basic rhythms that are taught in this class. All the steps that are taught can be used in different beats, so they cross-pollinate each other. It is a very fun class that will allow you to look great whenver these rhythms are heard in the dance floor in Panama or anywhere in the world!

Flamenco

Flamenco, Rumba Flamenca and Sevillanas all come from Spain, and are typically very passionate and powerful, yet filled with grace and precision. More than a dance, Flamenco is a culture, and learning how to dance it is an experience that trascends dancing and reaches the depths of your being.

Belly Dance

It's name comes from many the movements that come from that area during the dance. It comes from the Middle East and Northern Africa, and it's one of the oldest social dance forms in the world. Although there are forms of this dance that are apt for men, at K-dance we only teach Belly Dance for women. If you want to release your hip, gain stregth and flexibility, and connect with the feminine sensuality that this majestic dance awakens, this class is for you!
